Job summary

Carsem in Ipoh, Malaysia seeks a seasoned manager to supervise engineers, technicians, and operators, driving process optimization and ensuring safety/regulatory compliance. You will oversee semiconductor fabrication, assembly, or testing processes and work on improvements to boost yield and reduce defects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical/Materials Science or related field.
  • 5–10 years in semiconductor manufacturing, engineering, or process management.
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing (Front-End / Back-End).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise engineers, technicians, and operators within the section.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.
  • Oversee semiconductor fabrication, assembly, or testing processes.
  • Work on process improvements to enhance yield and reduce defects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Supply Chain).
  • Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of semiconductor equipment.
  • Work with vendors to acquire and implement new technologies.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in the production line.
  • Monitor process control metrics and take corrective actions.
  • Implement Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality methodologies.
  • Analyze defects and improve process reliability.
  • Plan and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Manage budgets and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Lead projects related to capacity expansion or technology upgrades.
  • Work closely with other departments (Design, R&D, Sales, and Supply Chain).
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) and technology transfers.

  • Experience: 5–10 years in semiconductor manufacturing, engineering, or process management.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes (Front-End / Back-End).
  • Familiarity with process control tools, metrology, and defect analysis.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA methodologies.
  • Proficiency in semiconductor equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Certification/ Licensing Requirements:
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, FMEA methodologies
