Job summary

Terberg Manufacturing & Assembly in Pasir Gudang is seeking an Assistant Manager, Assembly with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations. You will lead daily assembly activities to achieve SQDC targets, coordinate manpower, and drive continuous improvement across processes and safety.

You will liaise with engineering, planning, quality and maintenance to ensure production readiness and compliance with WI, SOP, PFMEA and HSE requirements, while coaching supervisors and teams

Qualifications

• Lead and oversee daily assembly operations to achieve production targets in SQDC.
• Investigate and resolve daily production issues related to manpower, materials, equipment, WIP and product quality.
• Plan and coordinate manpower allocation to ensure production schedules are achieved efficiently.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety, cost efficiency and process effectiveness.
• Review and improve assembly processes, line balancing, work methods and workstation layouts to optimize production performance.
• Monitor and analyse production KPIs, including output achievement, productivity, cycle time, downtime and overall equipment utilization, and implement improvement actions where necessary.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Quality, Purchasing, Warehouse and Maintenance to support new model introduction, engineering changes and production readiness.
• Ensure compliance with Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Control Plans (CP), PFMEA, quality standards and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements.
• Support process improvement activities, trial builds, production validation and implementation of engineering changes to ensure stable manufacturing processes.
• Review production documentation including work instructions, process flow, production records and KPI reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Lead problem-solving activities using structured methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of production issues.
• Develop supervisors and production personnel through coaching, training and competency development to improve operational performance.
• Participate in plant safety programs and promote a safe working environment through compliance with company safety policies and regulations.
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing or assembly operations.
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management role within an automotive or heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
• Experience in manpower planning, production scheduling, quality improvement and continuous improvement activities.
• Exposure in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Project Management or ISO Quality Management would be an added advantage.
