Job summary

STMicroelectronics Malaysia invites applications for the role of Assembly Operational Excellence Lead / Staff Engineer. The position focuses on driving improvement programs, standardizing maintenance practices, and collaborating with the global technical community to optimize assembly operations.

The role requires strong project management, experience in ASSY processes, and a solid background in engineering automation.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in ASSY process.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Equipment/Automation/Mechanical/Robotics/Mechatronics.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, JMP.
• Strong experience in project management, including automation, manufacturing, or improvement projects.
• Good understanding of semiconductor processes, process control, and the manufacturing environment.
• More than 10 years of working experience.
• Proven ability to lead and coach engineers and technicians.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Represent the plant as a member of the ST Global Technical Community.
• Lead the execution of improvement projects and action plans in collaboration with the technical community.
• Support the standardization of maintenance activities and related technical practices.
• Follow up and work closely with the Assembly team on BEMT Future Inside projects.
• Collaborate with R&D and equipment vendors on machine design improvements.
• Review and evaluate machine hardware and system design, and ensure proper upload to the ST document control system.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Be willing to learn and develop multi-skill capabilities.
• Quickly learn new technical issues and support problem resolution.
• Support new product qualification activities and equipment-related initiatives.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support in production.
