Job summary

HOMA ENGINEERING (M) SDN BHD is seeking an enthusiastic Intern Quantity Surveyor for a full-time internship based in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. You will support the QS team in cost management, project estimation, and contract administration, gaining hands-on experience on real construction projects.

This internship offers mentorship from experienced quantity surveyors, exposure to cost reporting, valuations, and BIM/QS software tools, with opportunities to develop technical and professional

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related construction discipline.
• Good mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
• Basic understanding of construction practices, materials and methodologies.
• Willingness to learn and develop professional knowledge in quantity surveying.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
• Familiarity with BIM or quantity surveying software would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing bills of quantities and cost estimates for construction projects.
• Support measurement and quantification of construction materials and work items.
• Conduct site visits to gather information and monitor progress.
• Assist in analyzing contract documents and tender specifications.
• Support interim valuations and payment certificates preparations.
• Liaise with contractors and other stakeholders on cost-related matters.
• Maintain project cost records and documentation.
