Job summary

Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur Bukit Jalil is seeking a motivated Commis Chef. This entry-level kitchen role supports senior chefs with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining hygiene standards while gaining hands-on training across kitchen sections.

You will work under Hyatt's guidance to follow recipes, ensure guest satisfaction, and help with setup, stock, and cleanliness. Ideal candidates have a hospitality-related qualification and strong service orientation.

Qualifications

• Ideally with a relevant degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management.
• Good customer service, communications and interpersonal skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Handle guest and associate enquiries courteously and report problems if no immediate solution is found.
• Aim to achieve or exceed Guest Satisfaction Survey targets.
• Prepare menu items in strict accordance with set recipes.
• Adhere to Hyatt hygiene standards and local hygiene laws.
• Wash, peel, cut and prepare vegetables and fruits daily.
• Carve and assist in quality control and buffet presentations.
