Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd is seeking an experienced AS400 Systems Administrator to lead the administration, operation, and lifecycle management of AS400 platforms. The role emphasizes deep AS400 expertise, strategic planning, and the ability to guide a small team.

You will work with related tools such as Mimix, Connect:Direct, Control-M, and Report2Web while ensuring compliance and high availability across infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of hands-on AS400 system administration experience.
• Deep knowledge of AS400 architecture, CL programming, system commands, and performance tuning.
• Experience with infrastructure tools listed above is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and implement effective solutions.
• Leadership experience and ability to mentor team members.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AS400 system setup, configuration, maintenance, and optimization.
• Perform OS and third-party software installation and upgrades.
• Monitor and tune OS and online applications for performance.
• Conduct capacity planning and storage management.
• Maintain system documentation and compliance with policies.
• Lead a small team and mentor staff as Unit Head if appointed.
• Collaborate with other infra teams for seamless integration.
