Job summary

ACCORD INNOVATIONS SDN. BHD. through Polisy Asia seeks a developer to build scalable software solutions and contribute across the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

The role emphasizes SMART/400 and Cobol/400 development within insurance workflows. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, write clean code, perform unit testing, participate in code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 3+ years in SMART400 system development (Policy/Asia).
• Knowledge of general insurance and Policy/Asia lifecycle.
• Experience with insurance industry practices/regulations and dealing with regulators and auditors.
• Familiar with WRKQRY, Query/400, SQL/400, SQL and BI tools.
• Experience preparing test cases and unit test plans.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and objectives.
• Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
• Perform unit testing and debugging of SMART programs.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to SMART & CHUBB coding standards.
• Contribute to technical documentation including system design and user guides.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software defects or issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Change management and audit compliance with BNM and CHUBB APAC practices.
• Ensure quality, performance and security of the product.
