About the role We are seeking an Area Manager for Penang to join our growing management team. This is a full-time position based in Penang, where you will oversee the operations and performance of our retail outlets in the region. As Area Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service across all stores under your supervision. This position is instrumental in achieving our business objectives and contributing to the continued success of SK Jewellery.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple retail stores within the Penang area, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

Monitor and analyse sales performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability

Recruit, train, supervise, and develop store managers and sales staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability

Conduct regular store visits to assess operational standards, merchandise presentation, and customer service quality

Manage budgets and control costs whilst maintaining optimal inventory levels across all assigned stores

Develop and execute local marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement

Maintain strong relationships with customers, address complaints, and ensure customer satisfaction

Prepare and submit regular reports on sales, performance metrics, and area developments to senior management

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security regulations across all stores

Lead by example, embodying the company values and motivating your team to achieve targets

What we’re looking for

Proven experience in retail management, ideally managing multiple sites or an area/regional portfolio

Strong understanding of retail operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service excellence

Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth

Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in using retail management systems and data analysis

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels

Knowledge of the jewellery retail sector or luxury goods retail is highly desirable

Flexibility to travel within the Penang area as required

Diploma or degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related discipline is preferred

Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin languages are an advantage
