Job summary

CHAGEE (M) SDN. BHD. invites applications for an Area Manager under the Business Manager Program in Sarawak. The role leads three stores, drives P&L performance, and implements brand standards across sales, costs, and customer experience.

You will hire, develop, and evaluate store leaders, ensuring discipline, planning, and execution while coordinating with HQ for strategic initiatives and local marketing. 3–5 years in relevant roles is preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least Degree/Diploma in Business or other relevant field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of working experience in the relevant field.
• Good People Skills and Communication Skills (Written & Oral)
• Good Discipline, Planning, Organizing, Monitoring, and controlling Skills
• Leadership Skills — Supervising & Ability to Train and Monitor Progress

Responsibilities

• Ownership of store-level P&L performance, including sales forecasting and target setting
• Profitability management (cost control, labor %, waste management, inventory optimization)
• Business optimization initiatives
• Operational resource allocation within approved frameworks
• Hiring and recruitment decisions for store-level roles
• Selection, development, and promotion of store managers and key talents
• Performance evaluation, development and feedback processes
• Handling escalated personnel matters (in alignment & support of the HR policy)
• Shaping store culture aligned with brand values
• Ensuring compliance with brand SOP and quality standards
• Supervision of service quality and customer experience
• Operational optimization (scheduling, workflow improvements, efficiency initiatives)
• Coordination with HQ on operational support needs
• Localized marketing initiatives and community engagement
• Acting as the first-line decision authority for store-level operational matters
• Store managers report to Business Manager.
• Day-to-day operations and people's decisions within the three stores will be made by the Business Manager.
• Strategic alignment and major investment decisions will remain aligned with HQ and approved through the reporting line to management.
