Job summary

Beaks Construction is seeking a Site Engineer to supervise architectural works and assist the project team on inspections, meetings and client liaison at the site. You will monitor trade contractors for sequence, method and quality, and coordinate with subcontractors for daily site reporting.

The role requires a civil/architectural engineering degree and 5–7 years of relevant experience, with travel and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a professional certificate or degree in civil/architecture engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of relevant working experience in civil/construction projects.
• Experience coordinating and monitoring site works per ISO and contractual specs.
• High-rise building experience is an advantage.
• Willing to travel and work overtime; Cantonese language ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, monitor and inspect architectural works progress at site.
• Assist the project team in inspections, meetings, liaising with clients and administrative matters.
• Monitor trade contractors’ works: sequence, methods, and quality control.
• Coordinate with trade contractors' project managers and supervisors for project completion.
• Prepare site coordination with sub-contractors for new workers, logistics and daily reports.
• Carry out duties as instructed by Project Manager and Management.
• Monitor usage of machinery, tools, materials and manpower.
• Calculate quantities based on construction drawings.
• Prepare site diary, measurements, records and site progress reports; assist with project claims.
• Identify and resolve potential issues with consultants, project team and trade contractors.

Job description

Supervise, monitor and inspect architectural works progress at site

To assist the overall project implementation and site construction

Assist the project team in carrying out inspections, attending meetings, liaising with COW, client, and other administrative matters.

To monitor trade contractor’s works on site – work sequence, method of construction and quality control.

Liaise with trade contractors project managers, trade contractor supervisors to ensure successful completion of projects.

Able to prepare and handle site co-ordination with sub-contractors for any new workers, logistics and daily site reports.

To undertake any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by Project Manager and the Management.

Able to monitor the usage of machinery, tools, material and manpower.

To carry out calculation of quantity based on construction drawings.

Assist in the preparation of proper record of site diary, site measurement, site record and site progress record, project claims.

Recognize and solve potential problems on site with consultants, project team, trade contractors and clerk of work.

Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least Professional Certificate, Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil), Architecture or equivalent.

At least 5-7 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Engineering - Civil/Construction/Structural or equivalent.

Experience in coordinating and monitoring of site works in accordance with ISO requirements and contractual specifications.

High rise building experience will be advantages

Willing to travel.

Willing to work overtime.

Cantonese speaker preferable to effectively communicate with Cantonese-speaking clients.
