Job summary

Safeguards Corporation Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Application Support Leader to mentor a technical team and translate business needs into scalable solutions. You will drive performance, security, and reliability across our applications, coordinating with stakeholders and vendors.

This role requires strong SDLC knowledge, hands-on coding in Java/.NET/Python, and proven leadership in after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in application support.
• Proven leadership or team management experience.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience with Java, .NET, or Python is required.
• Hands-on experience with databases, especially Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Strong ownership and ability to work in after-hours support.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of application support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, and security standards.
• Oversee incident, problem, and change management processes
• Drive continuous improvement and system optimization initiatives
• Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers when required
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
• Act as a key person to in DR activities including planning, execution, and communication to relevant stakeholders.
