Job summary

NEXIFY Technologies (M) is seeking an Applications Support Engineer (Java/.NET) to join our Kuala Lumpur team. You will provide comprehensive support and maintenance for enterprise applications built on Java and .NET platforms, ensuring reliable operation and excellent service to clients and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, performance optimization, deployment support and collaboration with development teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in application support or software development.
• Hands-on in Java and/or .NET environments.
• Strong Java proficiency and familiarity with Spring and Hibernate.
• Relational databases knowledge (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
• Experience with application servers such as Tomcat/JBoss/IIS.
• Familiarity with debugging, logging and monitoring tools.
• Understanding of SDLC and version control (Git/SVN).
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

About the role
NEXIFY Technologies (M) is seeking an Application Support Engineer (Java / .NET) to join our dynamic technical team. This is a full-time position based in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and maintenance for our enterprise applications built on Java and .NET platforms. You will be a critical member of our support team, ensuring that our applications run smoothly and efficiently whilst delivering exceptional service to both internal stakeholders and external clients. This position offers the opportunity to work across the full application lifecycle, from troubleshooting and bug resolution to performance optimization and system enhancements.

Key responsibilities

Provide first and second-line technical support for Java and .NET applications, responding to user queries and resolving technical issues in a timely manner

Diagnose and troubleshoot application performance issues, errors and bugs using appropriate debugging tools and methodologies

Conduct root cause analysis on application failures and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence

Monitor application logs, system performance metrics and alerts to proactively identify and address potential issues

Collaborate with development teams to understand application architecture, configurations and dependencies

Perform code reviews and provide technical guidance on best practices for application support and maintenance

Document technical issues, resolutions and workarounds in a comprehensive knowledge base

Assist with application deployment, patching and release management activities

Support database-related issues and coordinate with database administrators as needed

Maintain detailed records of incidents, changes and system configurations for audit and compliance purposes

What we're looking for

A minimum of 3 years' experience in application support or software development roles, with hands‑on experience in Java and/or .NET environments

Strong proficiency in Java programming language, including understanding of Spring Framework, Hibernate and related technologies, or equivalent .NET expertise with C#, ASP.NET and the .NET Framework

Solid knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL, including basic SQL query writing and optimization

Experience with application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, IIS or similar platforms

Familiarity with debugging tools, logging frameworks and application monitoring tools

Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and version control systems such as Git or SVN

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex technical issues methodically

Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience with Linux/Windows system administration is highly desirable

Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud is a plus

Relevant certifications in Java, .NET or related technologies are advantageous
