Job summary

OCBC Malaysia is seeking an Applications Support specialist to provide ongoing support and improvements for banking applications. You will handle Level 2 and 3 production support, perform root cause analysis, and work with cross-border teams to implement fixes and enhancements.

The role requires strong communication, proactive teamwork, and the ability to understand system design. Candidates with 3+ years in similar roles and familiarity with Java/ .NET, Linux/Windows, and SQL will fit well.

Responsibilities

• Provide application support and enhancement for applications used in the bank.
• Perform Level 2 and 3 of production support

• Perform enhancement and defect fixing at code level.
• Manage system risks and implement improvements to mitigate risks.
• Work closely with users to understand their needs and issues.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide application support and enhancement for applications used in the bank.
• Perform Level 2 and 3 of production support
• Perform problem investigation – problem identification, root cause analysis, solution definition, development, and implementation.
• Understand the system design and provide impact analysis to any changes.
• Perform enhancement and defect fixing at code level.
• Manage system risks and conjure improvements to mitigate and manage risks
• Work closely with users to understand their needs & issues.

Job Requirements:

• Application Technical Support on either of the following:
• Applications based on Java technology and WebLogic/ Websphere/ JBoss OR
• Applications based on .NET technology and Microsoft IIS
• Platform Knowledge on Linux/ UNIX OR Windows Server.
• Database knowledge on MS SQL OR Oracle database.
• Knowledge in Banking IT environment will be a plus.
• 24 x 7 offsite standby support on rotational basis.
• Minimum 3 years of working experience in the same capacity.
• Pleasant personality with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive and team player.
• Able to work with cross border colleagues.
