Job summary

Boston Scientific Gruppe in Penang seeks a Payroll Manager APAC to lead a team of payroll professionals delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across the APAC region. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10–12 years of relevant payroll experience with leadership experience in multinational/shared services.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll operations, controls, compliance, and governance across APAC.
• Experience leading payroll service delivery, managing vendors, and partnering with HR/Finance.
• Proven people leadership, performance management, and driving operational excellence.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for complex issues.
• Experience leading process improvement and automation initiatives in payroll.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of payroll professionals and first-line managers.
• Translate payroll objectives into team plans, priorities, resource allocations, and performance goals.
• Ensure accurate, timely, compliant payroll delivery across countries.
• Monitor performance, service quality, controls, and payroll metrics; take corrective action.
• Provide operational oversight and resolve complex payroll and vendor issues.
• Make decisions within policies; escalate high-impact matters to senior management.
• Adapt plans in response to changing requirements and risks.
• Recommend and implement procedures to strengthen payroll governance.
• Identify and drive process improvements to improve accuracy and cost effectiveness.
• Manage relationships with HR, Finance, external providers, and stakeholders.
• Contribute to budgeting, workforce planning, and vendor performance discussions.
• Partner with GPO to implement reporting and analytics measuring performance.
• Monitor payroll legislation and industry practices; respond appropriately.
• Represent payroll in reviews, meetings, audits, and cross-functional initiatives.
