Job summary

Boston Scientific Gruppe in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Payroll Manager APAC to lead a team of payroll professionals across APAC, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery for multiple countries. The role partners with HR, Finance, and external providers to drive governance and continuous improvement.

You will translate strategic priorities into operational plans, manage resources, and contribute to budgeting and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline.
• 10-12 years of payroll experience, with leadership in multinational/shared services.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll operations, governance, and compliance across APAC.
• Experience leading payroll service delivery and vendor partnerships.
• Proven ability to develop teams, manage performance, and drive improvements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across functions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a payroll team, including first-line managers when applicable.
• Translate objectives into team plans, priorities, and performance goals.
• Ensure accurate, timely, compliant payroll delivery across APAC scope.
• Monitor performance, service quality, controls, and payroll metrics.
• Provide operational oversight and resolve complex payroll, systems, and vendor issues.
• Make decisions within policy, escalating matters with broad financial impact.
• Adapt plans in response to changing business requirements and risks.
• Recommend and implement payroll governance controls and standard processes.
• Identify process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, external providers, and stakeholders to achieve objectives.
