Job summary

Lumileds in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Sales Development Engineer to bridge marketing and sales across APAC. You will identify, engage, and qualify leads, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and deliver precise commercial quotations while aligning technical specs with client needs.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, and Finance to manage pipelines, support pricing inquiries, and generate localized proposals that support growth and profitability in regional markets.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of proven track record within sales, sales operations, commercial engineering, or data analytics pipelines (preferably in the semiconductor or electronics space).
• Practical, hands-on experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM platform to manage activity tracking, pipeline workflows, and standard performance reporting.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with advanced MS Excel capabilities—pivot tables, advanced filters, and data sorting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, ensuring clear commercial presentation and technical articulation to internal and external partners.
• Proactive, self-motivated individual who can work with independence while collaborating cross-functionally.
• Goal-oriented, high-energy professional with a resilient, results-driven attitude focused on meeting team objectives.

Responsibilities

• Execute the front-end sales cycle framework, ensuring smooth marketing-to-sales data transfers, active lead qualification, and steady pipeline conversion.
• Support the APAC account management strategy by administering sales pipelines, preparing comprehensive quote portfolios, and reviewing client specification compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, and Finance teams to process pricing inquiries and customize advanced technical proposals.
• Generate, review, and issue localized commercial quotations across diverse geographical regions and market segments.
• Oversee technical platform setups and track incoming client specification support requests to ensure high CRM data integrity.
• Conduct data-driven competitive reviews to provide the sales team with insights to position Lumileds against market rivals.
• Analyze product price erosion curves to deliver data-driven revenue summaries that support profitability.
• Compile weekly and monthly sales activity summaries to maintain pipeline visibility for regional leadership.
