Job summary

Businesslist in Malaysia seeks a senior finance professional to oversee day-to-day operations and guide a junior team. You will manage month-end closing, review entries and reconciliations, and ensure accurate financial reporting for management.

Successful candidate will have 5–8 years in finance, strong SAP knowledge, and the ability to provide insights for commercial decisions while maintaining robust internal controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Mandarin proficiency preferred.
• ACCA/CPA/CA or equivalent preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Strong experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• SAP knowledge with strong finance module understanding.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day finance operations and guide junior team members.

• Review and validate journal entries and financial adjustments prepared by the team.

Job description

• Review and approve accounting entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform review and validation of journal entries and financial adjustments prepared by the team.
• Review financial reports and ensure the integrity and completeness of financial data before submission to management.
• Support commercial finance operations by collaborating with business stakeholders and providing financial insights where required.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies and financial governance frameworks.
• Utilise SAP systems to review financial transactions, monitor financial data, and support reporting and operational finance activities.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Profficiency in Mandarin is preferred.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within commercial or corporate environments.
• Strong experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Hands-on experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• SAP system knowledge with strong understanding of finance modules.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to guide junior team members while maintaining a hands-on approach.
