Job summary

Allianz Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead medium to large‑scale strategic initiatives in a fast‑moving technology landscape. You will drive end‑to‑end delivery, oversee AI, data analytics, automation and Generative AI initiatives, and ensure delivery within scope, schedule and budget.

You will champion Agile adoption, coach cross‑functional teams, and partner with business and technology stakeholders to boost delivery efficiency, governance and customer value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in IT, CS, Engineering, or related fields.
• 5–8 years of project management experience.
• Experience leading medium to large-scale projects.
• Experience with technology transformation and digital initiatives.
• Exposure to AI, data analytics, automation, or generative AI.
• PM certification (PMP/PRINCE2/PMO-CP) preferred.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery.

Job description

To lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of medium to large-scale strategic projects across Allianz Malaysia.
The incumbent will be responsible for driving project outcomes through effective stakeholder management, governance, risk management, and project execution while ensuring projects are delivered within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
The role requires hands-on project delivery experience and exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Analytics, Automation, Generative AI initiatives to support Allianz's evolving business and technology landscape.
Drive the adoption of Agile ways of working, coach teams on Agile practices, and partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to enhance delivery efficiency, cross-functional collaboration, and customer value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects from initiation through closure.
• Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and implementation roadmaps.
• Manage project scope, deliverables, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, and change requests.
• Coordinate project activities across business units, technology teams, vendors, and external partners.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of project milestones and objectives.
• Escalate risks and issues proactively and facilitate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Lead and support the Enterprise Agile transformation journey across Allianz Malaysia.
• Promote understanding of Agile methodologies and foster a cultural shift towards Agile principles; regularly evaluate and refine the approach to Agile adoption to align with the organization's requirements.
• Coach cross-functional squad teams on Agile principles, frameworks, and practices.
• Partner with business and technology leaders to shape the transformation roadmap and align Agile initiatives to strategic priorities.
• Support Agile transformation-related change management, communication, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Work closely with business owners, technical teams, governance functions and external service providers.
• Facilitate project requirement gathering, project workshops, status meetings and steering committee sessions.
• Ensure project governance, methodologies and documentation standards are consistently applied.
• Prepare project status reports, executive updates, steering committee materials, and management presentations.
• Provide timely visibility of project health, budget utilization, risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Support internal and external audit requirements where applicable.
• Support and deliver projects involving AI, Automation and Workflow Transformation
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to evaluate opportunities for AI-enabled solutions.
• Support AI proof-of-concepts (PoC), pilot implementations and business adoption activities.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5–8 years of project management experience.
• Proven experience managing medium to large-scale business or technology projects with planning and execution capability
• Experience delivering projects involving technology transformation, system implementation, digital initiatives, or business process improvements.
• Exposure to AI, Data Analytics, Automation, Generative AI or digital initiatives is highly desirable.
• Experience within Financial Institution such as Insurance / Banking, or Consulting environments is preferred.
• PMP, PRINCE2, PMO-CP, or equivalent Project Management certification.
• Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Agile Coach (ICP-ACC), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
• AI-related certifications (e.g., Microsoft AI Fundamentals, Azure AI Fundamentals, Generative AI certifications) would be advantageous.
• Ability to effectively manage relationships with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Strong skills in conveying information clearly and delivering impactful presentations.
• Ability to lead, influence outcomes, and work collaboratively across teams.
• Strong capability in analyzing situations, identifying issues, and developing effective solutions, including proactive risk and issue management.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery methodologies
