Job summary

Scicom MSC Berhad in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to compile, verify and process supplier invoices, manage accounts payable, and prepare self-billed e-invoices. You will also support monthly financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations for the group companies.

The role requires a diploma or degree in accounting, at least two years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage financial tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.

Responsibilities

• Compile, verify and process supplier invoices per company policies.
• Prepare and submit self-billed e-invoices.
• Manage and maintain accounts payable records.
• Prepare expense variance analyses and reconciliations.
• Process payments to vendors and consultants timely.
• Maintain schedule of recurring payments and track agreements.
• Calculate and update accruals and prepayments.
• Upload consultant invoices to the accounting system.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements for subsidiaries, including reconciliations, tax computations and analyses for management.
• Assist in balance sheet schedules and journal vouchers for monthly close.
• Assist in updating cash flow records.
• Assist in preparing reports to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Perform other ad hoc tasks to support finance functions.
