Private Advertiser in Malaysia's Penang region seeks a dedicated accountant to support day-to-day financial operations, including ledgers, reconcilations, and financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accountancy and 1–2 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software is essential, with strong analytical and communication skills. You will work under minimal supervision to meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accountancy or related experience.
• 1–2 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping and basic financial reporting.
• Experience handling full set of accounts will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Able to understand accounting transactions, analyse financial information and provide clear and accurate answers.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping, cash controls, general ledger and subsidiary ledger maintenance.
• Handle full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and related accounting functions.
• Perform bank reconciliation, payment processing, asset management, billing issuance and customer collection.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue payments with customers.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports, including balance sheet, income statement, expense reports and other management reports.
• Ensure all expenses and financial transactions are properly recorded, supported by documentation and within budget.
• Identify, investigate and resolve invoicing issues, accounting discrepancies and other financial-related matters.
• Review accounting entries and supporting documents to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with procedures.
• Be able to understand, explain and answer accounting-related questions.
