Jora Malaysia is recruiting for an Accounts Executive / Assistant Accountant in Penang. You will manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, including GL, AR, AP, and intercompany accounts, while preparing management and tax-related reports.
The role requires 2–3 years' experience, with MFRS knowledge an advantage. Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required; Mandarin is preferred.

Handle and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities, including general ledger, fixed assets, journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany accounts, billing, and related accounting matters.
Prepare and reconcile accounts payable andaccountsreceivable transactions, payment processing, petty cash, cash flow related reports, and supporting schedules.
Monitoraccountsreceivable matters, including debt follow-up, payment offset details, customer reconciliation, issue troubleshooting, customer code setup, ageing reports, and other AR-related tasks.
Assistin preparingaccurateandtimelymanagement reports, budget reports, forecast schedules, various accounting reports, and variance analysis.
Support tax-related work, including preparation of tax schedules, Sales and Service Tax matters, filings, and supporting documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
Maintain proper filing, documentation, retrieval, and archiving of accounting records.
Support review and improvement of accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance with group policies and statutory requirements.
Liaise with auditors, company secretary, tax consultants, and internal departments on accounting and compliance-related matters whenrequired.
Keep updated on relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, and best practices.
Perform other ad hoc accounting, finance or tax assignments as assigned by the superior.
Candidate must possess at least Advanced/Higher Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Finance/ Accountancy or part ACCA or equivalent.

Candidates who are fluent in Mandarin are preferred because the role requires candidates to interact with Mandarin-speaking clients.
At least 2 - 3year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. Familiar with working environment in a trading/sales office and MFRS knowledge will be added advantage.
SAP and or Oracle system knowledge preferred.
Must possess good analytical skills, attentive to details; must be organized, high initiative, able to work independently under pressure and committed to ensure deadlines are met.
Candidate should be organized, hands-on, and able to work closely with internal and external parties to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
