Job summary

Hata is hiring an Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. The role is suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1–2 years of experience who want to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance operations.

You will work closely on day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, documentation, and financial reporting. The position offers on-site work in Malaysia, with opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to a compliant, customer-focused financial operation.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to check work carefully.
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and seek clarification when needed.
• Responsible, reliable, and able to follow through on assigned tasks.
• Able to adapt to a fast-paced working environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and data entry.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
• Assist with bank, supplier, and other account reconciliations.
• Check financial transactions and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Help follow up on missing documents, unclear transaction details, and minor discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment follow-up.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and preparation of accounting schedules.
• Support the preparation of management accounts, financial reports, budgets, and cash flow information.
• Organize and maintain proper supporting documents for accounting and audit purposes.
• Assist with audit, tax, compliance, and regulatory documentation where required.
• Work with internal teams to obtain information and clarify finance-related matters.
• Learn to identify unusual entries, missing information, or possible errors and raise them to the relevant team member.
• Support improvements to finance processes, filing, and documentation where opportunities are identified.
• Carry out other finance and accounting duties as assigned.
