Job summary

Hata seeks a detail-oriented account associate to join our finance team in Petaling Jaya. You will manage daily financial operations and contribute to accurate reporting in a fast-paced fintech environment.

With 1–3 years of accounting experience and a Bachelor’s degree, you will perform reconciliations, assist in month-end closing, and support audit and regulatory reporting while learning our digital asset platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or audit.
• Familiarity with digital assets, cryptocurrencies, or fintech is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
• Perform bank, digital wallet, supplier, intercompany, and other account reconciliations.
• Review transactions and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
• Investigate discrepancies, unusual balances, and missing information, and follow up where needed.
• Support month-end closing, management accounts, financial reporting, and cash flow preparation.
• Manage assigned accounts payable and receivable activities.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members on routine accounting tasks.
• Review selected work and provide constructive feedback where needed.
• Help coordinate pending items and support the team in meeting deadlines.
• Maintain complete and audit-ready financial documentation.
• Support audit, tax, compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams to clarify transactions and resolve accounting matters.
• Suggest practical improvements to accounting processes, documentation, and controls.

• Good understanding of accounting principles.
