Job summary

Hata is seeking a motivated Accounting Associate to join our Finance team in Kuala Lumpur. This role suits fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1–2 years of experience who want to build a foundation in accounting and financial operations.

You will assist with day-to-day transactions, maintain records, perform reconciliations, and support month-end closing and reporting. The position emphasizes detail, accuracy, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic exposure to reconciliation, invoicing, or financial reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and data entry.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
• Assist with bank, supplier, and other account reconciliations.
• Check financial transactions and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Help follow up on missing documents, unclear transaction details, and minor discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing and payment follow-up.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and preparation of accounting schedules.
• Support the preparation of management accounts, financial reports, budgets, and cash flow information.
• Organize and maintain proper supporting documents for accounting and audit purposes.
• Assist with audit, tax, compliance, and regulatory documentation where required.
• Work with internal teams to obtain information and clarify finance-related matters.
• Learn to identify unusual entries, missing information, or possible errors and raise them to the relevant team member.
• Support improvements to finance processes, filing, and documentation where opportunities are identified.
• Carry out other finance and accounting duties as assigned.

Get to know the Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our Finance team. This role is suitable for fresh graduates or candidates with up to 1–2 years of working experience who are keen to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance operations.

You will work closely with the team on day-to-day accounting activities, reconciliations, documentation, and financial reporting.

The Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with day-to-day accounting transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and data entry.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system.
• Assist with bank, supplier, and other account reconciliations.
• Check financial transactions and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Help follow up on missing documents, unclear transaction details, and minor discrepancies.
