Job summary

Smartlink Consulting Sdn. Bhd. is hiring an Accountant who is Mandarin-speaking to support month-end closing, review and post accounting transactions, and coach junior team members in Johor Bahru. You will ensure accurate financial records and collaborate with regional stakeholders.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams, preparing audit schedules, and assisting in onboarding new accounting systems and data migration while strengthening internal controls and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• ACCA/CIMA/CPA advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience in full-set accounts and month-end closing.
• Mandarin required for regional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Entity Review: Review and post accounting transactions, ensure proper accounting treatment, and provide guidance and coaching to junior team members.

Month-End Closing: Manage monthly closing and review entity financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness before submission.

Audit & Reconciliation: Prepare audit schedules, perform account reconciliations, and resolve outstanding discrepancies.

Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal stakeholders and group accountants to identify and resolve accounting issues.

System Implementation: Assist in onboarding new accounting systems, data migration, and process improvements.

Process Excellence & Controls: Assist the Finance Manager in driving continuous process improvements, strengthening internal controls, and implementing best practices to enhance finance operations.

Job Requirements

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with hands-on experience in full-set accounts and month-end closing.

Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.

Experience in reviewing accounting transactions, identifying discrepancies, and resolving accounting issues.

Able to work independently, meet reporting deadlines, and ensure accuracy of financial statements.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Willingness to guide and coach junior team members.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting software (eg. Zoho Book). Experience in ERP implementation or data migration will be an added advantage.

Good command of Mandarin for communication with regional stakeholders.

Candidates with Singapore accounting experience or those looking to relocate from Singapore back to Johor Bahru are highly encouraged to apply.
