Job summary

SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd is seeking an experienced FP&A professional to support financial planning and performance management in Malaysia. You will deliver accurate analyses, robust reporting, and insights to drive operational and financial results.

The role involves collecting data from business teams, building financial models, and partnering with cross-functional groups to standardize data and improve visibility of key metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is required.
• Minimum 5 years of FP&A or commercial finance experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and working with cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and accounting skills with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
• Good communication and stakeholder management in a fast-paced environment.

To support the company’s financial planning and performance management by delivering accurate financial analysis, clear insights, and reliable reporting that help business leaders make informed decisions and drive overall operational and financial results.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work with business teams to collect and reconcile operational and financial data.

Prepare accurate financial reports and analyses (P&L, balance sheet, variances)., monthly/quarterly review slides, dashboards, and financial summaries.

Track performance against budget/forecast and provide insights and recommendations.

Build and maintain financial models for performance analysis and scenario planning.

Support ad-hoc financial analysis needs.

Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize data and improve visibility of key metrics.

Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Analyze capital expenditure performance including actuals, forecasts, and variances.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of FP&A or commercial finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and working with cross-functional teams.

Strong analytical and accounting skills.

Able to turn data into clear, actionable insights.

Good communication and stakeholder management.

Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with Cognos, Oracle, ERP, or BI tools is an advantage.
