Job summary

Rainforest Life, a fast‑growing ecommerce startup, seeks an Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting and the full set of accounts including GL, AP, AR, inventories and fixed assets.

You will prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and cash flow statements, plus investor reporting, while using Netsuite and Excel to streamline processes and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in a retail company.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient with accounting software and tools to manage data.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Job description

Managing day-to-day accounting operations and handles full sets of accounts which cover General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Inventories and Fixed Assets

Prepares monthly consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statements, as well as investor reporting

Utilising accounting software and financial tools (e.g., Netsuite, Excel) to streamline processes and maintain accurate financial records.

Conducting financial analysis and providing insights to management for improved financial performance and decision-making.

Work on monthly close schedules, as well as the monthly reconciliations

Monitoring and managing cash flow activities, maintaining cash disbursement/receipt controls and identifying cash flow issues

Implementing best practices in accounting processes and policies and identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the accounting function.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as operations and other departments, to gather necessary information and ensure alignment on financial goals.

Coordinating with external auditors and supporting the annual audit process.

Undertaking additional tasks and projects as assigned by the FM to support company goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional qualification is preferred.
• Proven experience (2-3 years) as an Accountant, preferably in a retail company environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial reporting.
• Proficient in using accounting software and tools to manage financial data effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
