Job summary

First Solar Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to support the finance team in Malaysia. You will perform regular accounting and compliance tasks, ensure timely invoice processing, and respond to vendor inquiries.

You will work with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), maintain accurate GL coding, and support monthly closings while adhering to Corporate Accounting policies and SOX controls.

This role requires a hands-on, analytical mindset in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Finance or Accounting
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA and CA
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment or audit firm
• Aptitude for learning & utilizing systems
• Hands-on
• Ability to adapt in a changing work environment
• Good analytical mindset
• Team player
• Preferable with local GAAP knowledge
• Proficient on MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and etc.
• Knowledgeable in SAP/ Oracle

Responsibilities

• Perform the Company’s regular accounting and compliance work.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues daily.
• Handle daily invoice processing according to the KPI.
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
• Perform the review and follow up on AP aging report on weekly basis.
• Perform the review and follow up on GRIR aging report on weekly basis.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper general ledger coding in support of monthly closing.
• Perform monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
• Ensure compliance with Corporate Accounting policies and proper execution of controls laid out in the Sarbanes‑Oxley documents.
• Work with counterparts to ensure consistency among processes.
• Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment, Health and Safety and Responsible Business Alliance policies and procedures that is enforced within the organization.
• Other tasks as assigned.
