Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a finance professional to manage full sets of accounts (AR, AP, GL), post journals, and support month-end closing. The role covers bank reconciliations, tax schedules, and preparing P&L and cash flow reports.

Requirements include 2–4 years in accounting and a LCCI Diploma in Accounting or equivalent, with MS Excel and accounting software proficiency, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-4 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance.
• Familiar with accounting software and MS Excel.
• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts or partial accounts (AR, AP, GL) depending on assignment.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records.
• Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Process supplier invoices and staff claims; verify against PO/delivery notes; prepare payments.
• Monitor outstanding payables and follow up on discrepancies.
• Issue invoices and credit notes; monitor customer payments and aging; follow up on overdue accounts.
• Reconcile GL balances, intercompany accounts, and control accounts; perform bank reconciliations monthly.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing; prepare schedules for reports and audits.
• Support SST / GST / tax schedules and liaise with auditors and company secretary.
• Maintain accounting records and assist in budgeting and cost control.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties

Handle full set of accounts or partial accounts (AR, AP, GL) depending on assignment

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

Maintain proper documentation and filing of accounting records

Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time

2. Accounts Payable (AP)

Process supplier invoices and staff claims

Verify invoices against PO / delivery notes

Prepare payment vouchers and arrange payments

Monitor outstanding payables and follow up on discrepancies

3. Accounts Receivable (AR)

Issue invoices and credit notes

Monitor customer payments and aging

Follow up on overdue accounts

Reconcile customer accounts

Perform bank reconciliations monthly

Reconcile GL balances, intercompany accounts, and control accounts

Investigate and resolve variances

5. Monthly Closing & Reporting

Assist in month-end and year-end closing

Prepare schedules for management reports and audits

Support preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports

6. Tax & Statutory Compliance

Assist in preparation of SST / GST / tax schedules (if applicable)

Support external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

7. Administrative & Support Duties

Maintain proper accounting records and filing system

Assist in budget tracking and cost control

Perform other accounting or finance-related tasks as assigned by management

Requirements

Minimum 2-4 years of relevant working experience in accounting or finance

Minimum qualification: LCCI Diploma in Accounting or equivalent

Able to handle full set of accounts or key accounting functions (AR, AP, GL)

Familiar with accounting software and MS Excel

Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and statutory requirements

Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to meet deadlines

Able to work independently with minimum supervision and as part of a team

5 days working days (Monday - Friday 0830 - 1730)
