Job summary

General Storage Company Pte Ltd is seeking a hands-on A4 Chargeman / Maintenance Technician to manage electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance of the facility. You will ensure building systems are safe, reliable, and compliant with Malaysian regulations.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance of electrical systems, coordinating contractors, and timely response to breakdowns. Relevant certifications (PW2/PW4) are advantageous; shift duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Building Services, or a related technical discipline from ILP, IKM, or another recognised institution.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant building maintenance experience.
• PW2, PW3, PW4 or other relevant electrical competency certification would be an advantage.
• Hands-on knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems; familiarity with Malaysian building and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Register and maintain the required Chargeman certification with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) and other relevant authorities.
• Plan, supervise, and carry out preventive maintenance for electrical systems, including generators, switchgear, capacitors, cabling, wiring, lighting, and power distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults involving building systems such as fire protection, ACMV/HVAC, pumps, lighting, earthing, and related equipment.
• Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical equipment and systems in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain and repair plumbing systems, including piping, water supply, drainage, sanitary fittings, leaks, blockages, and water pressure issues.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, and water pump systems.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and consultants engaged for maintenance, repair, and technical works.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns, emergencies, and maintenance issues.
• Maintain appropriate maintenance records, service schedules, and compliance documentation.

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Willing to perform shift work, weekend duties, and standby/on‑call rotations where required.
