India in Saltillo, Coahuila is seeking a Plant Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator responsible for administering WHS processes to ensure all safety compliance. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in safety within a manufacturing setting. Fluency in English is mandatory, and the position entails working in shifts.

Position Overview

The Plant Wellbeing, Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator is responsible for implementing and administering standardized WHS processes to ensure safety and health compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local regulations, as well as corporate policies and procedures. The coordinator contributes to corporate and local targets and savings by eliminating occupational injuries/illnesses, property damage, and environmental impacts. This position focuses on improving and safeguarding the wellbeing health and safety of all employees, supporting SPW Safety Domain activities and the Safety Management System (ISO 45001). The role reports to the Plant WHS Manager and is responsible for, but not limited to, the following.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and implement WHS training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conducted.
  • Conduct regular audits of WHS processes and undertake necessary follow‑up to ensure compliance, advising plant leadership and corporate WHS staff of findings.
  • Analyze injury/illness experience, identify and track injury correlation, determine root causes, implement corrective action, and communicate this information to plant leadership and corporate WHS.
  • Manage new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that WHS design specifications and regulations are included.
  • Ensure ergonomic processes are implemented and integrated in an appropriate manner.
  • Manage routine safety reports, including data acquisition, documentation, record‑keeping, monitoring, review, and approval.
  • Coordinate communication of WHS regulatory inspection activity with plant leadership.
  • Conduct advanced safety reviews.
  • Lead WHS projects to improve key performance metrics and savings.
  • Manage, in partnership with medical, first‑aid, recordable, and lost‑time cases, to help ensure desired outcomes.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the plant's safety management system to meet ISO 45001 and SPW Health and Safety Domain requirements, supervise and improve the contractor’s safety program.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Industrial, Chemistry, or a similar field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Safety, Environmental, Engineering within manufacturing.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local WHS regulations.
  • Availability to work in shifts.
  • Fluent in English.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Certifications in safety matters.
  • Master’s degree related to WHS, Safety, or Engineering.
  • Experience in the automotive industry.
