Formación

  • IWCF or equivalent well control certification is desirable.

Airswift is looking for a Well Engineer (Onshore) to work on a temporary onshore office-based assignment (10–12 months) with a major company in the energy sector.The position is based onshore in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and candidates must have relevant experience in drilling and completion planning, well design, and cost and risk management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and plan safe and efficient drilling and completion operations aligned with technical, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Develop well programs and operational procedures, considering cost, timeline, and technical feasibility.
  • Interface with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment across engineering, logistics, and HSE functions.
  • Monitor daily drilling operations, analyze performance data, and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with company well delivery processes and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Manage third-party service providers and ensure service quality meets operational goals.
  • Prepare and review operational reports, risk assessments, and lessons learned documentation.
  • Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to cost control and budgeting activities for well delivery.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience as a Well Engineer in onshore drilling and completion projects.
  • Experience with well design tools (e.g., COMPASS, WELLCAT, WELLPLAN) and industry software.
  • Knowledge of Brazilian regulatory framework and well delivery best practices.
  • IWCF or equivalent well control certification is desirable.
  • Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced English and portuguese.
  • Strong commitment to HSSE performance and operational integrity.
