Caterpillar Inc. in Mexico is seeking a Manufacturing Welding Process Engineer to lead CAPEX projects for welding equipment, automation, and workstation standards. You will drive process improvements to ensure safer, higher-quality, and cost-effective welding operations across new product introductions.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial/metallurgical engineering is required, with proficiency in AutoCAD and English. Expect ~20% travel and relocation support as needed.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience translating welding concepts into manufacturable equipment and processes.

Responsabilidades

• Lead capital expenditure projects for welding equipment, positioners, tooling, and related manufacturing systems.
• Evaluate and select equipment/concepts by safety, process flow, and feasibility.
• Coordinate installation, commissioning, startup, and stabilization of welding equipment.
• Develop, validate, and document welding processes and workstation standards.
• Provide technical support for MIG, TIG, and submerged arc welding applications.
• Interpret welding drawings, GD&T, and specs to support decisions.
• Support NPI activities and integrate manufacturing requirements into welding processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers and plant teams on reviews, issues, and safe launches.
