Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware, and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groups – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data, and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments, and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

The Warehouse Manager plays a critical role by overseeing the planning, scheduling, and monitoring of material movement through the production cycle. This position involves working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure materials are available as per production schedules. The Warehouse Manager will also assist in resolving issues related to over shipments, shortages, among others.

Key leader in our logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and organized management of our warehouse facilities. In charge of overseeing a team of warehouse personnel and driving process optimization to meet customer demands, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for warehouse strategy and providing leadership and direction to warehouse personnel, ensuring efficient and safe material handling.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the movement of materials through the production cycle.
  • Determine material requirements from engineers and production schedules.
  • Provide direction to subordinates based on policies and management guidance, ensuring compliance.
  • Review work upon completion to ensure objectives are met.
  • Interpret and execute policies and procedures affecting subordinate units; recommend modifications.
  • Act as an advisor regarding tasks, projects, and operations.
  • Become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or resolve complex problems.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Maintain frequent contact with internal personnel and outside customer representatives concerning operations or scheduling.
  • Conduct briefings and participate in technical meetings related to operations.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the system.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in logistics and warehouse management.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in warehouse management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing warehouse operations, staff supervision, and process optimization.
  • Experience with warehouse management software (WMS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory warehouse requirements.
  • Experience with international shipping and import/export processes.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
