Globalpayer in Mexico City is seeking a Virtualization Engineer (entry to mid level) to join the IT team in a hybrid role. You will install and configure VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VMs, monitor virtual servers, implement security, and perform upgrades.

You will also develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to streamline tasks, troubleshoot complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong English and a degree or relevant experience are required.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or practical experience in computer science, information technology or related field.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, operating systems, networking, and storage management.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and clients.

Responsabilidades

• Install and configure virtualization software including VMware ESXi, vCenter, and VMs.
• Monitor, provision, configure and troubleshoot virtual servers for performance and reliability.
• Implement virtualization security with access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection.
• Apply software updates, patches, and upgrades to virtualization software, OS, and apps.
• Develop automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot issues across virtualized infrastructure and networking to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with IT teams, system admins, network engineers, and security specialists; provide training as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotation, including weekend support as needed.

We’re looking for a Virtualization Engineer (entry to mid level role) to join our ever evolving IT team in Mexico (hybrid) and help shape the future of global commerce.What you’ll ownInstalling and configuring virtualization software: Deploying and configuring VMware ESXi hypervisors, vCenter servers, and virtual machines, as well as managing virtual networking and storage resources.Managing virtual servers: Monitoring and managing virtual servers, including provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting virtual machines to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Implementing virtualization security: Implementing security best practices for virtualized environments, such as access controls, encryption, and intrusion detection, to protect against cyber threats and ensure data confidentiality.Performing system upgrades and patches: Applying software updates, patches, and upgrades to virtualization software, operating systems, and applications to maintain system stability and security.Automation and scripting: Developing scripts and automation tools using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages to streamline routine tasks, automate processes, and improve operational efficiency.Troubleshooting and problem-solving: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to virtualized infrastructure, network connectivity, performance bottlenecks, and system failures to minimize downtime and ensure system availability.Collaboration and communication: Collaborating with IT teams, system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists to ensure seamless integration of virtualized environments with other technologies and systems. Providing technical support and training to end users as needed. Participating in an on-call support rotation for escalations within the team as needed.May require rotating 24x7 on-call support responsibility as well as weekend support.What you’ll bring• A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
