A global technology distributor is looking for a compliance expert in Tlaquepaque, Mexico. This role ensures adherence to international regulations related to shipping and export operations. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and ideally less than 2 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include monitoring shipments for compliance, maintaining records, and conducting new customer screenings. The position offers a dynamic environment to improve processes and training in security requirements, along with competitive compensation and benefits.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of activities and serves as a subject‑matter expert ensuring the company supply chain fully complies with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and all other local, national and international regulatory requirements.

Principal Responsibilities

• Monitors shipments subject to security regulations, both domestic and international, to ensure continual adherence to record‑keeping, reporting, tolling, and expiration requirements.
• Maintains records required for exports of ITAR hardware, technical data, and defense services including management of jurisdiction determinations and internal correspondence.
• Performs license determinations, applies license exceptions and exemptions, and files for licenses when applicable.
• Provides reports to support business financial decisions and demonstrates compliance to security regulations.
• Conducts new customer screening to ensure compliance with government import/export regulations and performs Denied Party Check (DPC) reviews for new partner creation.
• Develops and/or delivers training programs regarding basic and specialized aspects of security requirements, monitors case law and legislation, and provides timely updates to the business.
• Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, including varied key performance metrics.
• Updates and maintains electronic and hard‑copy records as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Foundational knowledge of specialized disciplines, industry practices and standards, acquired via academic instruction and/or relevant work experience of substantially the same level.

Work Experience

Typically less than 2 years with a bachelor’s or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s)

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
