ResponsibilitiesThe Opportunity
The Transformation Lead Manager, Global Functions Transformation will take a senior leadership role in PepsiCo’s mission to drive sustainability through technology, based in Mexico City, Mexico. In this strategic position, you will act as the primary S&T partner, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions that advance PepsiCo’s sustainability goals, while collaborating closely with the Global Sustainability Office to align digital initiatives with the company’s pep+ objectives. You will lead efforts within the S&T function to assess and reduce its carbon footprint, integrate sustainability practices into operations, and drive energy reduction and green energy adoption, all while leveraging data science and innovative technologies to deliver measurable impact. Additionally, you will work with the internal Capabilities team to identify talent and build high-performing teams within S&T, ensuring the successful execution of transformative projects. Your Impact
As Transformation Lead Manager - Global Functions Transformation, your scope would consist of:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of S&T footprint, including procured services, data centers operation, servers inventory, networking equipment, procured services, and end-user devices, to identify high carbon footprint areas and recommend abatement models for achieving Net Zero goals or Science-Based Targets (SBTs).
- Execute and manage the carbon emissions reduction model for the S&T function, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals (pep+).
- Develop energy, greenhouse gas (GHG)/carbon emissions inventories, water and waste footprints, and other environmental metrics, utilizing data analysis, emission factor development, and calculation methodologies.
- Lead the integration and embedding of sustainability practices into S&T operations, processes, and strategy, ensuring sustainability is a core focus throughout.
- Drive energy reduction and other reduction initiatives adoption, ensuring measurable progress toward GHG reduction targets aligned with corporate sustainability objectives.
- Manage the ingestion and transformation of unstructured data for processing in automated carbon data pipelines, enhancing tooling for calculating, testing, and publishing finalized carbon footprint assessments.
- Collaborate with S&T stakeholders to build measurement strategies and identify the correct raw data to accurately calculate their carbon footprint.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability goals, providing regular reports on progress and areas for improvement.
- Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and supply chain partners, to promote sustainable sourcing and procurement practices.
- Stay updated on emerging sustainability frameworks (CSRD, GHG protocol, etc.) trends, technologies, and best practices, continuously improving S&T’s sustainability programs and practices.
- Assess the financial implications of sustainability initiatives, including cost savings, revenue generation, and investment opportunities.
- Act as the S&T partner, translating business needs into actionable technical solutions.
- Work with internal Capabilities team (S&T) to identify talent and build teams to get work completed.
QualificationsWho Are We Looking For?
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Technology, or related field required; master’s degree in Sustainability preferred.
Experience
- 8+ years of related Information Technology and related business experience.
- 3+ years of experience working on Sustainability projects.
- 3+ years of hands-on corporate carbon accounting experience, including Scope 3.
- You care about climate change.
- Proven ability to create and drive GHG emissions reduction initiatives and implement effective abatement models.
- Strong influence and collaboration skills to engage with other functions, such as vendor management, procurement, and supply chain, to embed sustainability practices.
- Greenhouse gas (GHG) estimation and/or life-cycle accounting knowledge/work experience is required. Demonstrated understanding of fundamental life cycle GHG accounting practices as well as an understanding of potential GHG emission sources from various commodity sectors.
- In-depth understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and best practices, with a proven track record of successfully implementing sustainability initiatives within a corporate context.
- Strong knowledge of IT greenhouse gas accounting principles and industry guidance on climate, such as the GHG Protocol, GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of the organization effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with collaboration and listening skills.
- Experience with agile delivery methodologies such as Scaled Agile.
- Experience with leading brainstorming/ideation workshops with business.
- Demonstrated ability to drive innovative solutions using data science and machine learning.
- Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with senior business and S&T leadership/management.
- Functional business experience strongly preferred in Operations, Marketing, HR, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, or similar.
- Experience in Food/Beverage/Manufacturing or Consumer Products industry preferred.
- Ability to work with virtual teams (remote work locations); lead team of technical resources (employees and contractors) based in multiple locations across geographies.
