Xylem Chihuahua is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to manage daily import and export operations, ensuring accurate and timely customs clearance in line with Mexican regulations and Xylem standards.

You will work with customs brokers, Logistics, Materials, Warehouse, Purchasing, Finance, and Manufacturing to maintain compliance and streamline processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Business, Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate and monitor daily import and export operations, ensuring timely and accurate customs clearance.
  • Review import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, permits, pedimentos, and other applicable customs documents.
  • Review pedimentos and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues before and after clearance.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure accurate processing of customs operations and timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Monitor temporary import and export transactions, including applicable deadlines, returns, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and complete customs and foreign trade records in accordance with Xylem policies and Mexican regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with customs audits, internal reviews, and information requests by gathering documentation and transaction records.

About the Role

Support the Trade Compliance function at Xylem Chihuahua by managing and monitoring daily import and export operations, ensuring that customs transactions are executed accurately, timely, and in compliance with Mexican regulations and Xylem requirements.

The Trade Compliance Analyst will work closely with the Trade Compliance Coordinator and will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and control of import and export activities, working closely with customs brokers, Logistics, Materials, Warehouse, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, and other internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor daily import and export operations, ensuring timely and accurate customs clearance.
  • Review import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, permits, pedimentos, and other applicable customs documents.
  • Review pedimentos and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies or potential compliance issues before and after clearance.
  • Coordinate with customs brokers to ensure accurate processing of customs operations and timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Monitor temporary import and export transactions, including applicable deadlines, returns, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the administration and control of Annex 24 and Annex 30, including inventory records, import/export reconciliations, discharges, and expiration monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and complete customs and foreign trade records in accordance with Xylem policies and Mexican regulatory requirements.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of documentation required for IMMEX, PROSEC, IVA-IEPS Certification, and other applicable foreign trade programs.
  • Identify and elevate discrepancies related to tariff classification, quantities, values, country of origin, customs duties, documentation, or other compliance requirements.
  • Support the review and application of applicable RRNAs, NOMs, permits, and other import/export requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of import and export transactions and support internal reporting and compliance metrics.
  • Assist with customs audits, internal reviews, and information requests by gathering documentation and transaction records.
  • Follow established procedures and elevate potential compliance risks to the Trade Compliance Coordinator.
  • Track operational Trade Compliance KPIs and support corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Work closely with the Trade Compliance Coordinator to ensure daily operations remain aligned with the site’s overall compliance program.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Business, Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in customs, import/export, or Trade Compliance, preferably in a manufacturing or IMMEX/maquiladora environment.
  • Practical knowledge of Mexican import and export operations and customs documentation.
  • Experience reviewing pedimentos and supporting customs documentation.
  • Knowledge of IMMEX, PROSEC, IVA-IEPS, Annex 24 and Annex 30.
  • Knowledge of tariff classification, customs duties, country of origin, RRNAs/NOMs, and other applicable customs requirements.
  • Experience working with customs brokers and logistics providers.
  • SAP and intermediate/advanced Excel skills; OneSource or similar Trade Compliance systems are a plus.
  • Ability to understand BOMs and material data is preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
