The Global Institute of Educational Innovation (GIEI) aims to create a hub of educational data and a center for excellence in educational research. GIEI comprises active research groups within an Excellence Research Lab (ERL), a Living Lab & Data Hub (LL & DH), and TecLabs, which focus on dissemination, promotion, and faculty training in educational research and innovation. The institute unites professionals worldwide to address current educational challenges and shape the future of education.

The Living Lab & Data Hub (LL & DH) is part of GIEI and provides a platform for groundbreaking experimental educational research at Tecnológico de Monterrey. It connects faculty, decision-makers, and international researchers, and offers an open educational data repository accessible to all members and global researchers.

About The Position

Interested in leading a research group within an Excellence Research Lab? We invite you to explore the role of Leader of the Educational Innovation Research Team at Tecnológico de Monterrey. This position offers the chance to enhance and expand research skills within a vibrant, collaborative environment with national and international researchers. As part of the Excellence Research Lab, you will work with other research teams across Tecnológico de Monterrey, TecMilenio, and global institutions to produce high-impact educational research.

The team typically includes two senior research faculty and several junior faculty and postdoctoral researchers. The Leader manages team operations, fosters collaboration, monitors productivity, and attracts funding, transferring this expertise to junior members.

The Institute for the Future of Education (https://tec.mx/en/ife) focuses on generating, transferring, and disseminating knowledge on educational innovation through an interdisciplinary, open, and world-class approach, addressing key themes like pedagogical approaches, accessibility, inclusivity, and relevance to societal needs.

Expected Responsibilities

• Stay updated on global educational research and trends.
• Support team members in academic production.
• Oversee daily operations and program management.
• Foster multidisciplinary research collaborations.
• Build a network of researchers across relevant areas.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (research faculty teach approximately half of the load compared to teaching faculty).

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate in Education, Data Science, Computer Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, or related fields.
• Strong publication record in high-impact journals (SNI level 2 or 3 desirable for Mexico-based candidates).
• Proven success in securing research funding nationally and internationally.
• At least 10 years of experience in Education-related fields.
• Excellent English proficiency and academic skills.
• Spanish proficiency is desirable.
