Job summary

Vertiv Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support new product development for Thermal global products. The engineer will be responsible for the physical and thermal design of new products, starting from abstract concepts and seeing them through to product launch, with a hands-on approach.

The role requires practical problem-solving abilities, strong collaboration across global teams, and the capacity to translate concepts into robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts.
• Experience with CAD tools such as Creo and Solid Edge.
• Ability to work in cross-functional global teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate performance testing in the lab.
• Analyze test data, diagnose issues and determine changes to improve performance.
• Thermal system modeling to determine performance.
• Determine controls routines needed to make system operate optimally and to meet customer requirements.
• Create and modify mechanical parts/assemblies/drawings in CAD systems like Creo and Solid Edge.
• Create and maintain BOMs and unit configurator logic to select correct BOMs based on options selected by the customer.
• Work with Marketing, Manufacturing, Service and Quality to understand requirements and design accordingly.
• Assist with prototype builds by providing technical support and guidance when issues arise.
• Gather feedback from prototype builds and field trials and implement improvements.
• Understands the products and suggests ideas for improvements.
• Assist with troubleshooting escalated field issues.
