Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Monterrey to support lead engineers in creating 3D parts, assemblies, and 2D drawings for water chillers. You will develop reliable designs with minimal supervision and contribute to NPDI projects to improve chiller products.

You will design structural sheet metal, piping, and contribute to prototype builds, validation testing, and manufacturing support, while collaborating with electrical and thermal teams to deliver innovative water system

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering knowledge including sheet metal design, mechanical assembly, welding/brazing, and piping.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably HVAC or refrigeration.
• Proficient in CAD, Creo preferred.
• Experience with PLM systems (BOM management and change order release) and PDM systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC/R systems and components.
• Good English communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design of chiller products by developing structural sheet metal parts and HVAC piping including refrigerant and hydraulic systems.
• Create and maintain 3D assembly models in Creo.
• Develop 3D parts and produce required documentation (2D drawings or 3D Model Based Definitions).
• Prepare and maintain BOM.
• Collaborate with electrical and thermal engineers to develop new water chiller solutions.
• Select materials and hardware; maintain supplier communications.

Job Description:

• The Mechanical Design Engineer will support lead engineers with the creation of 3D parts, assembly CAD Models, 2D Drawings and 3D Model Based Definitions, Bill of Materials (BOM) and PLM/PDM data. It is expected to perform tasks with minimal to no supervision and coaching. Will support the NPDI projects developing reliable and accurate designs for water Chiller products.

Responsabilities:

• Contribute to the design of chiller products developing structural sheet metal parts and HVAC piping including refrigerant and hydraulic.
• Create and maintain 3D assembly models in Creo.
• Develop 3D parts and create required documentations 2D drawings or 3D Model Based Definitions (PVZ’s).
• Prepare and maintain BOM.
• Contribute and collaborate with electrical and thermal engineers to develop new solutions for chiller water systems.
• Selections of materials and hardware. Keep communication with suppliers.
• Support prototype builds and validation testing, manufacturing, quality issues and improvements.
• Under mentoring, will develop skillsets focused on thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
