Thermal Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assists with creation, reviewing, and systems-entry of new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.
2. Should be able to generate the CFD mesh/model and run steady/transient flow/thermal analysis using different software and analyze the simulation results as well as prepare the reports clearly and independently.
3. Utilize the analytical skill set and simulation tools to analyze the fluid flow systems and provide recommendations for design improvements.
4. Should be able to interpret analysis results for base design and suggest modifications.
5. Work with contract resources and/or manufacturers for prototype/production builds.
6. Assist with troubleshooting of escalated or re-occurring field issues with aid from the simulations.
7. Work closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical support and guidance.
8. Collaborate with other groups, including Electrical, Mechanical, Control engineers, System test, customer support, and manufacturing.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor of Science in Thermal, Mechanical, Aerospace, Heat Power Engineering or equivalent.
2. CFD analysis experience (Steady/Transient, Laminar/Turbulence flow, Multi-Phase flow, Evaporation, etc.) in CFD analysis software such as FloTHERM, 6SigmaDC, Fluent.
3. Master’s degree in Thermal Science preferred.
4. Comfortable working with Creo preferred or any other CAD software.
5. 5+ years of engineering experience in DX and CW Refrigeration system development/design.
6. Comprehensive understanding of refrigeration systems.
7. Working proficiency in mechanical and thermal design concepts.
8. Experience with thermal design software such as Refprop, Colidesigner, or equivalent analysis package desired.
9. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve (and prevent) a wide range of problems quickly and logically.
10. Excellent planning, organizing, documentation, and communication skills.
11. Ability to multitask and operate in cross-functional global development teams.
