MKS Inc. in Nogales, Sonora, seeks an experienced test technician to support design, test, and manufacturing of prototype electro-mechanical systems and specialized test equipment.

The role requires a hands-on mindset, 4+ years of related experience, and familiarity with oscilloscope and data analysis tools to collect design data and ensure repeatable test results.

Formación

• Associate degree or equivalent technician experience required.
• Minimum 4+ years of related experience.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, and pressure transducers.

Responsabilidades

• Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electro‑mechanical systems, experimental design circuits, or specialized test equipment.
• Strong hands-on mindset to support production equipment.
• Applications may include analog, digital, and/or logic systems.
• Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting functions.
• Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work.
• Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
• Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
• Assists in the design, construction, test, and checkout of test equipment.
• Uses manufacturing test, development, or diagnostic equipment, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus, which may require software skills.

Preferred Skills

Instrumentation & Measurement Expertise

Skilled in using oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal analyzers, and pressure transducers for accurate electrical and mechanical measurements.

Test Procedure Development & Execution

Ability to follow and refine test protocols, ensuring repeatability and reliability in electrical and pressure‑related testing.

Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis

Strong diagnostic skills to quickly identify and resolve electrical or sensor‑related issues in test setups and production environments.

Data Acquisition & Analysis

Proficiency with data logging systems and software tools (e.g., LabVIEW, MINITAB, POWER BI, or similar) to collect, interpret, and report test results.

Knowledge of Safety Standards & Compliance

Familiarity with electrical safety practices, ESD handling, and industry standards (e.g., IEC or SEMI) to ensure safe and compliant testing.

Collaboration & Communication Skills

Ability to work closely with engineers, managers, and production teams, clearly documenting results and providing feedback for process improvements.
