Flex in Guadalajara, Mexico, is seeking a Test Engineer to supervise testing of PCBAs and electronic assemblies. You will lead test design, calibration of instruments, and data interpretation with cross-functional teams on site.

You will diagnose electrical failures, implement test equipment, and support production with data-driven improvements. This role requires solid hands-on testing experience and intermediate English.

Formación

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Solid experience supporting functional, in-circuit and hipot testing for PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
• Experience diagnosing electrical failures from functional tests at PCBA and sub-assembly levels.
• Experience integrating, installing, designing and supporting electrical test equipment and interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with electrical test instruments such as power supplies and electronic loads.

Responsabilidades

• Directs/co-ordinates testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
• Directs electronic engineering activities for development, installation and calibration of test instruments.
• Resolve testing problems with cross-functional teams to improve data interpretation and test quality.
• Evaluate/test data and prepare technical reports for engineering and management use.
• Train production staff on test hardware/software and problem solving techniques.
• Support continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve test yield.

Test Engineer located in Guadalajara, North

What a typical day looks like:

• Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
• Directs and coordinates electronic engineering activities concerned with development, procurement, installation and calibration of instruments, equipment and control devices required to test, and record test data.
• Interfaces and confers with scientific, engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.
• Evaluates and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
• May develops or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software.
• Trains and instructs floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as problem solving techniques.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives such as reducing false failures, equipment downtime and diagnostic inventory, while improving test yield.
• Strong ability to collect data and perform statistical analysis to support project continuous improvement activities.
• Perform and support equipment verification and integration in production.
• Create and maintain process documentation.
• Actively search for new technologies or procedures in the test sector.
• Defines conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
• Solid experience supporting functional, in-circuit and hipot testing for PCBAs, electronic assemblies, sub-assemblies and box-level products.
• Experience diagnosing electrical failures from functional tests at PCBA, assembly and electronic sub-assembly levels.
• Experience integrating, installing, designing and supporting electrical test equipment, test hardware, computer platforms and interfaces.
• Hands-on experience using electrical test instruments such as power supplies and electronic loads.
• Experience in manufacturing projects where products such as power supplies, batteries or computer servers are built and tested.
• Experience providing technical support to production lines for electronic assemblies.
• Experience collecting data and performing statistical analysis to support project continuous improvement activities.
• Intermediate English level.
• Availability to support production needs according to business requirements.
