Job Description

The Test Engineer is responsible for developing, integrating, and implementing automated testing systems. A strong knowledge of Electronics, Mechanics, Programming Software, Electronic Design, 3D Modeling, and Statistical Methods is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain testing methods, equipment, and systems for electronic products and assemblies.
  • Research and develop new methods, and design equipment and systems to improve testing procedures.
  • Use quality and maintenance data to measure test equipment performance and implement improvements.
  • Provide accurate written test procedures and maintenance routines, including spare parts lists for production use.
  • Offer technical assistance, services, and support to product lines for manufacturing processes and products.
  • Document projects according to active guidelines and formats.
  • Collaborate responsibly with product engineers, quality, and manufacturing personnel to maintain high quality and productivity.
  • Support the development and training of production staff in product operation and testing.
  • Follow ISO 9000 standards and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Adhere to safety policies, regulations, and procedures applicable to the company.

Authority

Responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of testing equipment, providing support aimed at improving current designs to enhance testing quality.

Basic Requirements

  • Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electromechanics.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing and implementing Hardware & Software Testing Systems for Electronic Assemblies.
  • Knowledge of ICT equipment, vision systems, and functional testing used in electronic board manufacturing.
  • Proven experience with statistical methods like Six Sigma, DOE, Cpk, and R&R.
  • Competent reading and understanding of electronic and electrical diagrams.
  • Proven ability to develop and program software using C/C++, NI CVI, LabView, Visual Basic, Python, etc.
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) at 80% proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, IPC610 Acceptance of Electronic Assemblies, and Ergonomics.

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to solve problems using statistical methods, preferably Six Sigma.
  • Capability to implement short-term projects and manage multiple priorities.
  • Skill in selecting machinery and equipment.
  • Experience working with electronic systems in team environments.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry, testing equipment maintenance, and programming, including PC and PLC.
