Corning is seeking a Test & Qualification Technician to support product qualification, verification, and reliability testing in a lab environment. You will work hands-on with fiber optic test systems and environmental chambers, following procedures with precision and maintaining quality standards.

The role requires a Technical Associate’s degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple testing activities in a fast-paced lab.

Role Purpose

What is your role?

As a Test & Qualification Technician you will support product qualification, verification, and reliability testing for optical telecommunications products in a laboratory environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, follows procedures with precision, and can manage multiple testing activities while maintaining strong quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute verification, qualification, and reliability testing activities for optical telecommunications products according to established procedures and applicable standards
• Set up, configure, and operate laboratory equipment, including fiber optic test systems, environmental chambers, and related testing tools
• Document test results, support basic data and failure analysis, and prepare reports and laboratory records accurately
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area while supporting calibration, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement activities in the lab

Experiences/Education - Required

• Technical Associate’s degree (TSU)
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in fiber optics, telecommunications products, or a similar technical/testing environment
• Hands‑on experience working with test and measurement equipment
• Ability to follow documented procedures accurately and work independently within established timelines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced laboratory setting
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• English proficiency desired
