Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Designer - Drafter COE for a two-year fixed-term assignment in Monterrey. You will plan, direct, and execute basic design projects related to new product development, redesigns, and production modifications, while supporting CAD deliverables and release coordination with EPIC.

You will coordinate layout/packaging, perform CAD studies, and work closely with engineers, project managers, and other designers to resolve scope gaps and keep schedules on track.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent; 1 year of experience minimum, or 2-year degree with 6+ years experience.
• Experience in basic design or drafting for product development, redesign, or production modifications.
• Working knowledge of CAD-based documentation and release processes.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute basic design projects for new product development, redesigns, and production modifications.
• Prepare and support CAD deliverables for internal and customer-facing needs.
• Coordinate layout and packaging work to support build requirements and design intent.
• Manage release coordination activities using EPIC and ensure complete documentation for release.
• Perform CAD studies to inform design decisions and product improvement.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and designers to resolve scope gaps and keep work moving.
