Responsibilities:
- Perform operations, maintenance, and repair of pipelines, compression equipment, gas process measurement systems, control systems, termination devices (pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, gas, fire detection), telecommunications equipment, valves, regulators, relief valves, purging, and pressurization of pipelines and stations, ensuring compliance with company procedures and Mexican standards.
- Actively participate in team environments, acquiring and applying necessary skills, supporting team performance, and assisting with administrative tasks, planning, troubleshooting, prioritization, and decision-making.
- Operate all work activities safely, including company vehicles.
- Analyze equipment development reports, initiate corrective activities, and review and improve maintenance procedures.
- Execute tasks and accurately record data according to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet short, medium, and long-term company goals.
- Participate actively in one or more supplementary roles as per Transcanada programs and committees.
- Read, interpret, and update drawings and schematics (Basic and Detailed Engineering).
- Use hand and power tools appropriately.
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Use computers and email for internal and external communication, record-keeping, online reports, material purchase orders, supply requests, and form submissions.
- Manage and handle inventory of materials.
- Interact with various PLCs and controllers using computers, familiar with communication protocols (RS232, RS485, Ethernet over copper and fiber optic media).
- Perform other tasks as defined by the team and maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of assigned facilities.
- Carry out additional activities as required.
Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience with control and measurement systems, instrumentation including but not limited to: pressure, temperature, flow, vibration transmitters, gas and fire detection equipment, pressure regulation, and valve operation.
- Ability to troubleshoot, operate, and maintain gas turbine compressors, reserve generators, oil coolers, air compressors, coolers, gearboxes, valves, and auxiliary equipment.
- Sense of urgency, individual responsibility, and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Qualified or capable of qualifying and advancing in assigned competencies within specified timelines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills for collaborative team environments, including responsibilities sharing, maintaining good relationships, and supporting team and company objectives.
- Willingness to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, and training.
- Availability for 24/7 calls and overtime to contain emergencies.
- Must carry a cell phone and be willing to rotate schedules.
- Strong safety attitude and environmental responsibility.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, including courses in electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting (equivalent work experience may substitute).
- Experience with electronic and electrical testing equipment for troubleshooting related to transmitters, pressure switches, and temperature devices.
- Relevant industry experience in natural gas or industrial plant environments.
- Knowledge of safety programs is a plus.
Additional Notes:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive standard vehicles.
- Willingness to travel for maintenance activities, projects, meetings, or training, which may involve several days of travel.
