Overview

Performs maintenance service or repairs in two or more skilled areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or instillations, or vehicle servicing.

Responsibilities

• Works under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special meeds.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Estimates time and material cost for various projects.
• Requisitions new supplies and equipment as needed.
• Resolves most questions and problems, referring only the most complex issues to higher levels.
• May periodically assist in orienting and training new employees.

Qualifications

• Typically requires high school education or equivalent and tow or more years mechanical or physical facility maintenance experience.
• Possess a strong working knowledge two or more skilled areas, including plumbing, carpentry, painting and plastering, machine servicing, electrical repairs or instillations, or vehicle servicing.
• Must be able to communicate ideas and convey and receive instruction accurately.
• May act as the project or assignment lead at times.
