An established industry player is seeking a dedicated technician to support the calibration and testing of optical fiber equipment. This role involves participating in the product development process, providing technical support, and ensuring laboratory equipment is maintained and operational. Ideal candidates will have a strong attention to detail, familiarity with good laboratory practices, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. · Perform calibrations and tests on optical fiber equipment to assess product requirements to technical specifications.
· Participate in the product development process by following the product's development progress and providing feedback, observations, and ideas to the team.
· Provide technical support for projects under development by assisting in sample prototyping, assembly, fiber configuration, and fiber routing.
· Collect, document, analyze and report test data to communicate observations, results, and conclusions.
· Provide support for the examination of failures and root cause analysis.
· Fabricate or assist in the fabrication of customized test fixtures and experimental setups.
· Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of laboratory equipment; assist in calibration and repair of equipment.
· Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe laboratory calibration.
· Ability to follow verbal instructions and detailed written procedures or work instructions.
· Familiarity with good laboratory practices and attention to detail are important.
· Experience using basic measurement tools, hand tools, and power tools.
· Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing principles as part of laboratory maintenance of equipment and fixtures.
· Computer skills in MS Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Ability to work in a team environment or work independently.
· English (Understand, Speak, Write) is an advantage.
· Associate degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination.
· Mechanical, Industrial, or laboratory experience.
